Poor instructions, extra parts

Pros

  • Lightweight

Cons

  • Poor instructions

Comments:

If you're buying this unit with new bike, have the bike shop install. If you're buying for replacement, you'll wish existing unit never went bad. Minimal number of parts, and extra ones that shouldn't be included, but instructions are lousy. Once installed computer does provide basic information for rider.

Bought for my mountain bike because it fit in center of handlebar however i dont do off road roading. Smooth an asphalt surfaces ..this unit was treated very delicately and it still stopped tracking speed and distsnce...replaced both batteries still the same erratic behavior ...I would not recommend you waste your money instead read the other reviews and see others had the sAme problem .

I use the Speedzone to check my progress throughout the ride. For the functions it provides it gives me enough information to kept me on track. If your looking for information that a pro rider would need then you are going to have to upgrade. It is fairly accurate,on an 80k run it was out by 1/2 a Km. If you want simple this is a good bang for the buck.

          Comments:

There's no way to turn it off. That wouldn't be a problem for a wired speedometer, or if you *never* take it off the bike. But when not on the bike, this wireless version will think it's moving at an arbitrary speed between .1 and 80 mph when the little nodes are (a) touched by skin, (b) near a magnet, or (c) within a foot of a computer. If any of those things happen, any trip meter or odometer readings are then wrong.

I really liked this computer after initial installation. Was easy to set up and easy to use. After replacing the battery in the sensor computer performance has been very erratic. MPH is all over the map and mileage continues to accumulate after stopping
