HED's Jet Disc FR boasts trick shaping to minimize drag for maximum speed. A toroidal bulge near the rim with a gradual transition to the hub smooths airflow, allowing the Jet to slice efficiently through the air. In addition to aerodynamics, stiffness and strength are additional important characteristics of a good disc, and the Jet possesses these features thanks to its unique construction. The foundation is a traditional spoked wheel. Carbon disc sides are then bonded to the hub, rim, and spokes. This two-part building process enables the disc to be made lighter while maintaining strength and stiffness for those winning accelerations and higher average speeds. To keep the weight down, the HED hub uses titanium freehub parts too.
HED's FR wheels (FR stands for Flamme Rouge - the red pennant that marks the final kilometer of pro road races), are HED's ultimate version of each of their wheelsets. If they can save weight or watts, they do it on their FR wheels. With lighter rims and hubs, higher quality bearings, titanium quick-release skewers and hub hardware, HED's FR wheels are simply the best in their class.
HED's Stability Control Technology (SCT) means that the wheel is tuned for optimum handling according to the rim depth. This ensures that even in crosswinds you enjoy precision handling and a significant aero advantage.
