Giro's Aeon is the pinnacle of lightness and comfort and a great choice for your road riding. This trick lid dropped 28% off the weight of its predecessor, while actually adding features. For durability it boasts Giro's In-mold polycarbonate shell with a reinforced thermoformed Giro SL Roll Cage, and for comfort there are 24 vents with Giro's Wind Tunnel technology to draw the air through. Complementing the ventilation is Giro's Roc Loc 5 retention system and anti-microbial X-Static padding for a custom fit and exceptional comfort.

Giro's Roc Loc 5.

A) Micro Dial - A ratcheting dial that’s simply twisted to tighten and loosen the fit.

B) Three-Position Vertical Fit - Lets you raise and lower the Roc Loc system to the perfect position.

C) Ergonomic Arms - Minimal shape fits comfortably and accommodates eyewear.

D) Dual Pods – Supportive, minimal panels that cradle your head for the utmost in comfort and safety.

E) Strap Management - The straps (not shown) are woven through the fit system to always remain in the right place.

    Comments:

I first purchased the Aeon as a replacement for another helmet that was old and just worn out. I was sold on its performance in keeping me cool during long rides in Iowa summers. I was also very thankful for the incredible engineering that went into this helmet as it probably saved me from some serious medical bills. I crashed out on a ride and hit the ground pretty hard. The helmet took the brunt of the impact. I cracked four of the braces and I walked away from the crash with just the typical road rash. Thanks Giro for the incredible helmet!! I'm already riding with the replacement. I highly recommend this helmet.

      Comments:

After a recent cycling mishap left me with two fractured ribs, pneumothorax, and three days in the hospital, I count myself extremely fortunate by not incurring a serious head injury. While my Giro Aeon suffered three breaks in the shell, it remained intact and absorbed the impact in magnificent fashion. I am heading to [...] today to purchase a replacement.
