When every gram and pedal stroke mean the difference between the podium and going home empty-handed, Giant's XC racers run the full-composite XTC Advanced SL 27.5 0. An OverDrive steerer flows into the MegaDrive down tube, which in turn attaches to a massive bottom bracket to deliver laser-sharp handling and explosive acceleration. Add to that the speed and control of 27.5-inch composite wheels, and you can see why your competition sees the XTC as an unfair advantage. Continuing with only the top of the top end, the XTC is equipped with a 100mm-travel Fox 32 Float fork and a Shimano XTR Di2 electronic 1x11-speed drivetrain with XTR brakes for the ultimate in riding performance. More of the best-of-the-best are represented with a composite bar, stem, and seatpost. Whether you're into racing or just embarrassing your friends, don't go home empty handed.

27.5-inch wheels (also known as 650B) offer the best characteristics of 26- and 29-inch wheels for an outstanding ride.

27.5-Inch (650B) wheel/tire performance.

Efficiency: Increasing the wheel diameter decreases the angle of attack (the angle at which round objects meet square objects). The lower the angle, the easier it is to roll over obstacles and maintain momentum.

Traction: With a larger diameter, the tire's contact patch increases, putting more rubber on the trail. A 27.5-inch (650B) has nearly the same contact patch as a 29er for superb acceleration, braking and cornering.

Weight: The weight of a 27.5 wheel, tire and tube is only 5% more than an identically built 26-inch wheel. Compare this to a 12% increase with a 29-inch wheel. Lighter wheels mean a lighter bike, and better climbing and acceleration.
