Giant's XTC Advanced 27.5 1 elevates your game as you tackle the trail's elevation. A born climber with the heart and soul of a fast descender, the XTC's nimble ride comes from the Advanced-grade composite frame that soaks up trail vibration while maintaining stiffness for awesome pedaling power. Leading the way, the Fox Float CTD Factory fork takes on brake-bump chatter as well as big hits with 100mm of travel. 27.5-inch Giant composite wheels add quickness through techy sections and stability everywhere else, not to mention corner-slashing stiffness. You'll need all that because you'll get up to speed on the quick thanks to Shimano's legendary XT drivetrain that clicks effortlessly into the right gear every time. Once you cross the finish line, slow it down with Shimano XT brakes that have power to spare. This lightweight racer is topped off with Giant components like a composite seatpost and low rise handlebar, not to mention a comfy Fizik saddle.

27.5-inch wheels (also known as 650B) offer the best characteristics of 26- and 29-inch wheels for an outstanding ride.

27.5-Inch (650B) wheel/tire performance.

Efficiency: Increasing the wheel diameter decreases the angle of attack (the angle at which round objects meet square objects). The lower the angle, the easier it is to roll over obstacles and maintain momentum.

Traction: With a larger diameter, the tire's contact patch increases, putting more rubber on the trail. A 27.5-inch (650B) has nearly the same contact patch as a 29er for superb acceleration, braking and cornering.

Weight: The weight of a 27.5 wheel, tire and tube is only 5% more than an identically built 26-inch wheel. Compare this to a 12% increase with a 29-inch wheel. Lighter wheels mean a lighter bike, and better climbing and acceleration.
