Climb like an XC racer and descend with supreme confidence on Giant's Trance Advanced 27.5 1. Sure, you've read that before, but this composite all-mountain rig truly has the goods to scale the steeps, yet float over rocks and roots. Getting it done is Giant's 140mm Maestro rear suspension featuring a Fox Float Factory shock. On the front, Fox's 34 Float Factory delivers the same high-end action with 140mm of travel. Throw in a Shimano XT 1x11 drivetrain for slick shifts and the right gear for whatever the trail hurls your way, as well as a set of Giant 27.5 composite wheels for railing the corners. Plus, Shimano's stellar XT disc brakes inspire confidence on every inch of dirt. And a Giant dropper post means the perfect riding position, whether you're getting loose or working hard for the summit. The rest of the spec, including Giant's stem, bar, and saddle, are equally up to keeping you in a pinned trance.

27.5-inch wheels (also known as 650B) offer the best characteristics of 26- and 29-inch wheels for an outstanding ride.

27.5-Inch (650B) wheel/tire performance.

Efficiency: Increasing the wheel diameter decreases the angle of attack (the angle at which round objects meet square objects). The lower the angle, the easier it is to roll over obstacles and maintain momentum.

Traction: With a larger diameter, the tire's contact patch increases, putting more rubber on the trail. A 27.5-inch (650B) has nearly the same contact patch as a 29er for superb acceleration, braking and cornering.

Weight: The weight of a 27.5 wheel, tire and tube is only 5% more than an identically built 26-inch wheel. Compare this to a 12% increase with a 29-inch wheel. Lighter wheels mean a lighter bike, and better climbing and acceleration.
